The comments were made by Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, July 6, at Naas District Court. In the first case,, which was held in-camera (in private), a garda inspector was seeking an adjournment in the case. However, the judge took issue with this, and said the inspector should have canvassed it earlier. "He has shown disrespect to the court," he said: "No one outside of the presiding judge has the right to adjourn a case."
