​A lawyer representing the garda at the centre of a row over a bicycle sent a letter to Garda Commissioner Drew Harris, giving him two weeks to clarify what he had earlier told the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) about the matter.

Damien Tansey wanted Mr Harris to state that his comments at the hearing did not intend to suggest that the officer was involved in wrongdoing or was blameworthy.
